The shunters are located in the Deanside Transit Authority complex in the Cardonald / Hillington area of west Glasgow.

From junction 26 of the M8, turn south on the A736 Hillington Road and at the first roundabout turn left into Deanside Road. At the end of this road is Russell Ltd. where there is a security barrier. The shunters may be visible from this security barrier, off to your left. On a weekend, you could try asking at the barrier for a closer look, but as this is a bonded warehouse, don't be surprised or offended if permission is not given.

For an alternative viewpoint, return back towards the motorway and turn right into the Makro car-park (you will probably have to go round the roundabout and come back down the other side of the dual-carriageway). Some or all of the shunters may be visible from this car park, but as with the view from the security barrier, numbers may be difficult to get.

The shunters are not visible from any passing trains as the DTA is on a freight-only spur. They are, however, visible distantly from the motorway when travelling west immediately before reaching junction 26, but drivers should keep their eyes on the road!
