The shunter is at the Imerys (previously ECC) works near the village of Burngullow, about 2.5 miles north west of St Austell.

Take the A3058 road from St Austell towards Newquay. About 2 miles from St Austell is a turning to the left, signposted to Burngullow. After about 1/4 mile down this lane, there is a bridge that goes over the Truro end of Burngullow yard. Park carefully by the bridge and the shunter should be visible from the bridge.

For closer views and photos, there is a footpath alongside the line on the south (far) side of the line. Although the footpath goes through someone’s garden (!), it is still a public footpath.

The shunter can also usually be seen from the Truro to St Austell train on the left-hand side going from Truro.
