The shunter at Avonmouth can usually be seen in the vicinity of St Andrews Road station on the Bristol to Severn Beach line. St Andrews Road station can be reached by taking the A4 north-west from Bristol, or from junction 18 off the M5, and then continuing on the A403. The station is signposted off to the left.

Alternatively, the shunter can usually be seen from the Bristol to Severn Beach train; it can be either side of the line, either north or south of the station.
